Workshops

T2 Offers ADA and Plans Reading Training in Central Florida

The Florida T2 Center offered two very unique training opportunities on May 18 and 19 in Central Florida. With assistance from the FDOT Research Office, T2 was able to provide two American with Disability Act (ADA) workshops, as well as a Plans Reading Fundamentals workshop, all at vastly reduced rates.

Florida’s Pilot/Escort Curriculum Goes to Maryland 

By special request from the United States Military, the Florida T2 Center offered a Pilot Escort Flagging workshop at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Aberdeen, MD on May 25, 2016.

Events

Congratulations to Leon Smith for Achieving First Place at the APWA Equipment Rodeo 

Leon Smith, heavy equipment operator for the St. Johns County Public Works Department, competed against 61 other heavy equipment operators from around the state. He was required to demonstrate proficiency on a number of machines, including gradall, vac truck, sweeper, small excavator, grapple truck, and remote control lawn mower.

T2 Assists FDOT with Pavement Workshop

On May 12th, the Florida T2 Center, in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), presented an Enhanced Durability through In-Place Pavement Density workshop to 31 attendees.

T2 Participates in Motor Carrier System Plan Business Forum

As an advocate for safety on Florida’s roadways, the Florida T2 Center participates in discussions regarding the future of freight movement. To support this aim, Alison Tillman attended FDOT’s Motor Carrier System Plan workshop in Bartow on April 7.

The PedBike team is constantly learning and discovering new processes to make things simpler and smoother. 

Occupant Protection Resource Center

The Florida OPRC team is gearing up for CPS week, reviewing the 2015 Florida Misuse Report, and making educational materials and scholarships available in order to promote occupant protection around the state.
