The CPSRS created monthly orientation webinars to provide ongoing support for newly certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPSTs) as they transition from training into practice. These sessions were developed to bridge the gap between certification and real-world application—helping new technicians feel confident, connected, and prepared to make an impact in their communities.
Orientations Are Offered in Two Rotating Formats:
- New Technician Orientation: Designed for those just starting out, this session offers practical guidance on recertification requirements, the CPST role progression, and how to access essential resources and networks. It also provides opportunities to ask questions, connect with peers, and learn how to apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings.
- Program & Event Orientation: Tailored for technicians ready to expand their involvement, this session focuses on hosting CPS events, operating a fitting station, and utilizing the National Digital Car Seat Check Form (NDCF) for effective program management.
Each webinar features timely topics that change based on participant questions and emerging needs, ensuring the content stays relevant and practical. Whether you need advice on getting started, strategies to build community partnerships, or tools to manage local programs, these orientations are designed to help you succeed and stay engaged.
