If you have several years of experience fitting bicycle helmets at community events and enjoy teaching others, consider becoming a Florida regional helmet fitter trainer. Regional helmet trainers volunteer their time to lead classes that teach others how to properly fit bicycle helmets. These trainers play a key role in expanding helmet safety education across the state.
To become a regional helmet fitter trainer in Florida, follow the steps outlined below.
- Participate in several community outreach events to gain experience with fitting helmets.
- Co-teach several helmet fitting courses with your regional helmet trainer.
- Secure recommendation by regional helmet trainer partner. Submit recommendation to ftsrc@ce.ufl.edu.
- Submit the application below with your qualifications to be a Regional Helmet Trainer.
Regional helmet trainers may upload their class rosters following a training session.
Once received, T2 staff will generate certificates of completion and email them directly to the newly trained helmet fitters.
