Become a Regional Trainer

If you have several years of experience fitting bicycle helmets at community events and enjoy teaching others, consider becoming a Florida regional helmet fitter trainer. Regional helmet trainers volunteer their time to lead classes that teach others how to properly fit bicycle helmets. These trainers play a key role in expanding helmet safety education across the state.

To become a regional helmet fitter trainer in Florida, follow the steps outlined below.

  • Participate in several community outreach events to gain experience with fitting helmets.
  • Co-teach several helmet fitting courses with your regional helmet trainer.
  • Secure recommendation by regional helmet trainer partner. Submit recommendation to ftsrc@ce.ufl.edu.
  • Submit the application below with your qualifications to be a Regional Helmet Trainer.

To become a regional helmet trainer you should assist an instructor with at least two training events. Please identify the regional trainer, place, and date of those training events.

Regional helmet trainers may upload their class rosters following a training session.

Once received, T2 staff will generate certificates of completion and email them directly to the newly trained helmet fitters.
