Every bike ride should begin with putting on a helmet—it’s the most important step to protect your head and reduce the risk of serious injury in a crash. Just as important as wearing a helmet is making sure it fits properly, as a well-fitted helmet offers the highest level of protection. Becoming a bike helmet fitter is a meaningful way to promote safety and public health in your community. It’s a rewarding opportunity to help others ride safely while contributing to injury prevention efforts.
To become a certified helmet fitter in Florida, individuals must attend the Bike Helmet Promotion Program training. This hands-on training teaches participants how to properly fit bicycle helmets to ensure safety for riders of all ages. By completing the training, you’ll gain the skills needed to participate in education and outreach events in your community, helping children and adults learn how to wear their helmets correctly. Contact your regional bicycle helmet fitter trainer to find a course or to request training.
