UFTI-T2 Center provides pilot / escort flagging training opportunities virtually. Typically, qualified escorts for over-sized loads attend an in-person training course in Florida – this is no longer the case. With the Center for Disease Control strongly urging individuals to stay home to decrease the spread of COVID-19, FDOT has approved UFTI-T2 Center to provide instructor-led trainings online in a virtual classroom setting. The continued education opportunities allows supply chain to maintain operations to deliver oversized loads with properly trained escort vehicle operators.  

Pilot/Escort Flagging training is one full day of training for those interested in escorting oversized loads. The certification from this course is accepted by other states who require a similar qualifying course. This FDOT qualification is valid for four years is renewed through a self-paced online refresher course.  

Virtual trainings have received tremendous student satisfaction remarks and have even mentioned that they prefer the virtual classroom setting. The ability to complete this training online has opened many doors and reduced the barriers for technicians entering in the freight business.
