CPS Scholarships

Child passenger safety technicians (CPSTs) apply their training and expertise in a variety of community-based settings. These include child safety seat checkup events, where parents and caregivers receive:

  • one-on-one education about proper child restraint use,
  • hands-on assistance with installing and adjusting child safety seats, and
  • guidance on selecting the appropriate seat for their child’s age, weight, and height.

These efforts help ensure children are safely transported in motor vehicles and empower families with the knowledge to protect their loved ones.

CPS scholarships are available for community members seeking certification as CPSTs, certified CPSTs seeking recertification, instructor candidates, technician proxy candidates, and expired technicians seeking renewal. The scholarships cover the following Safe Kids Worldwide fees:

Apply for a CPS Scholarship   

To apply, you must:

  1. Commit to attending every day of any required CPS Certification Training Course.
  2. Commit to participating in car seat checkup events after certification.
  3. Ensure you are registered for any course associated with this application, and that the instructor has approved your seat.
  4. Set your Safe Kids profile to “public” and affiliate it with the University of Florida. (INSTRUCTIONS HERE)
  5. Fill out the form below at least 10 days before the start of any associated course.
